Sayed spent two years at Cairo university prior to graduating from Asyut University in 1982.

Sayed has worked in the administration department and on site on the West Bank of Luxor, Karnak temple and Luxor temple.

When in Egypt, Sayed resides in the antiquities department, as Chief Inspector of Antiquities based in Luxor.
